Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Pengerusi Kumpulan Lotus dan Proton Holdings Berhad baru-baru ini melawat kilang Lotus di Hethel, United Kingdom. Beliau diberi penerangan mengenai pelan perniagaan Lotus dan barisan model baharu oleh Jean-Marc Gales, CEO Kumpulan Lotus sebelum melawat jaluran produksi Lotus Evora 400.

Menurut Tun Dr Mahathir, “Sejak melawat kilang ini setahun yang lalu, saya berasa kagun dengan perubahan yang dilakukan oleh pengurusan Lotus. Perniagaan telah mencapai banyak kemajuan dan sememangnya jelas proses perubahan sedang berjalan. Saya sentiasa gembira untuk datang ke sini dan dengan kemajuan yang dicapai serta model akan akan datang menjadikan saya lebih semangat dan teruja mengenai masa depan Lotus.”

Mengakhiri lawatan, Tun Dr. Mahathir memandu uji Lotus Evora 400 di Litar Ujian Lotus di mana beliau kagum dengan kebolehan model baharu dari Lotus seterusnya mengesahkan lagi prestasi model sports itu yang diperakui oleh jurnalis antarabangsa.

Global News: AUDI R8 LMS Now Open For Orders!

In March this year, the new Audi R8 LMS debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. Now, customers can order the GT3 sports car. On September 21, quattro GmbH, a subsidiary of AUDI AG, will launch production. The first customers are going to receive their race cars before the year is out.

Audi’s new GT3 race car already proved its prowess in May on clinching overall victory in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring and two further podium places in the Spa 24 Hours in July. “Due to races like these Audi Sport customer racing has developed the Audi R8 LMS in toughest conditions to the level of readiness for customer use. Concurrently, our engineers successfully completed all tests and trials and determined the final specification,” says Heinz Hollerweger, Managing Director of quattro GmbH. At the Audi site Böllinger Höfe near the Neckarsulm location, the chassis of the production model and the race cars are manufactured at the same facilities. Audi has implemented an extensive concept for carryover parts for this purpose. About half of the parts for the road-going high-performance sports car and the race car are identical.

Effective immediately, customers can order the race car, which can deliver up to 585 hp depending on the regulations, at the price of 359,000 euros (plus VAT). In addition, Audi Sport customer racing offers the car including a starter and parts package for the total price of 398,000 euros (plus VAT).

“Since 2009, Audi has been producing GT3 race cars for customers around the world. In the new R8 LMS, we’re again offering our customers an absolutely competitive concept,” says Romolo Liebchen, Head of Audi Sport customer racing. The company built 135 cars of the predecessor models for the markets in Australia, Asia, Europe and America.

On September 21, production of the new Audi R8 LMS will be launched, with deliveries commencing on October 26. Until the end of March 2016, Audi has scheduled production capacities for 45 GT3 race cars for the coming motorsport season. With that, the brand with the four rings sets the pace: the R8 LMS, as one of the first new models, corresponds to the GT3 regulations that will be in effect from 2016 until at least 2018, and thus sets new standards in terms of safety.

Selain daripada itu, Perodua turut melancarkan Myvi Premium XS 1.3 yang lengkap dengan kit badan GearUp iaitu skirting depan, sisi dan belakang serta lampu utama projektor dengan lampu penunjuk. Bahagian dalaman turut menerima perubahan iaitu kerusi dengan corak fabrik baharu dan kemasan dalaman yang gelap. Kereta terlaris Malaysia itu dipasarkan pada harga RM48,862.16 (warna solid) dan hanya boleh didapati dengan transmisi automatik sahaja.

Melalui pengenalan dua varian baharu ini Perodua mensasarkan untuk menjual sebanyak 3,400 unit Alza dan 7,500 unit Myvi sebulan. Perodua Alza S dan Myvi Premium XS 1.3 dibekalkan 5 tahun waranti seperti barisan model lain Perodua.

Honda Civic 2016 Dilancarkan Di Amerika Syarikat – Rekabentuk Fastback Dengan Enjin 1.5 Turbo!

Setelah lama gambar risikan Honda Civic 2016 tersebar di alam maya, model global yang dinanti itu akhirnya dilancarkan secara rasmi melalui siaran langsung di YouTube pada awal pagi Khamis. Civic generasi kesepuluh itu tampil dramatik dengan rekabentuk fastback dan lebih sporty. Civic 2016 direka baharu sepenuhnya untuk mengembalikan karakter sporty Civic dan menetapkan tanda aras baharu daripada segi keseronokan pemanduan, keselamatan, kecekapan bahan api dan perincian tersendiri.

Daripada segi ukuran di antara Civic generasi kesembilan, Civic 2016 lebih lebar sebanyak 2 inci, seinci lebih rendah dan 1.2 inci lebih panjang di antara roda depan dan belakang (wheelbase). Hasilnya boleh dilihat melalui bahagian bonet depan yang lebih panjang, agresif, dinamik dan gayaan belakang fastback ala Audi. At the beginning of next year, the icon of the sporty compact class – the Golf GTI – is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Volkswagen will mark this historic event with a progressive special edition: the new Golf GTI Clubsport.

The inventor of the “GTI” is thus continuing the tradition of GTI anniversary models, as exclusive special editions also marked the 20th, 25th, 30th and 35th birthdays. The turbocharged direct-injection engine in the anniversary model delivers an output of 195 kW / 265 PS , 35 PS more than on the previous mostpowerful Golf GTI. That, however, is far from all. For a short time – approximately 10 seconds each time – the driver can increase engine power by an additional 10 per cent to over 290 PS using a boost function. This added power is activated simply by kicking down the accelerator.

The Golf GTI Clubsport sprints to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds with a 6-speed manual gearbox; the optional 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) is even faster at 5.9 seconds.The Golf GTI Clubsport has a top speed of 250 km/h (DSG: 249 km/h). A look at fuel economy shows just how efficiently the sports car converts engine power into propulsion. With a manual gearbox, consumption is 6.9 l/100 km (equivalent to 160 g/km CO2); if power is transferred to the front wheels by DSG, the figure comes in at 6.7 l/100 km (155 g/km CO2).

Not only has Volkswagen given the anniversary model’s engine more power, it has also extensively revised the design, equipment and aerodynamic fine-tuning of the anniversary model. Due to the high power output and significantly improved downforce, the dynamic performance of the Golf GTI Clubsport propels it into the domain of top-class motorsport. This results in ground breaking handling properties at high speeds and breath taking cornering speeds.

The Golf GTI Clubsport is painted in “Oryx White” (other colours are available); as a contrast, the roof area comes in black. The Volkswagen exterior designers created a completely new front bumper, new side sills, a new rear diffuser, a new multi-part roof spoiler and exclusive forged alloy wheels for the anniversary model. These features immediately make the anniversary model standout from the familiar GTI models.

In terms of style, the side profile of the Golf GTI Clubsport is based on the original GTI version. To put this in context: the first generation was characterised by a wide black trim stripe on the side between the front and rear wheel arches at bumper level. This stripe has now been transferred to the side area ofthe anniversary model, paying homage to the 1976 Golf GTI, and is enhanced with the lettering “Clubsport”. The black trim stripe is continued towards the front in the new air deflector element of the front bumper. The optional “Bresica” 19-inch alloy wheels designed especially for the new Golf GTI Clubsport make a further dynamic statement. The anniversary model is equipped asstandard with forged 18-inch alloy wheels that are also newly designed. A fine detail on the side are the high-gloss black door mirror caps.

The redesigned roof edge spoiler, perfected in the wind tunnel, is much larger than its counter part on the current GTI. There is a narrow air gap between the roof area that is entirely in black and the wing-like spoiler placed above it. The roof spoiler in high-gloss black and “Oryx White” projects upwards above the roof line. The lower rear section has also been individualised. Seen diagonally from behind, it is noticeable that the line of the wrap-around splitter of the side line (below the sill) is continued in the large rear diffuser that is a new development. Here, too, the colour is high-glass black. The redesigned and chrome-plated tailpipes of the twin-pipe exhaust system have been elegantly integrated in the diffuser; the diameter of the tailpipes is much larger than on the familiar Golf GTI models. The LED rear lights come in dark black-red.

The interior features iconic details that are essential for every GTI; they include the ergonomic sports seats with a tailor-made look featuring tartan fabric upholstery, red topstitching, a gear knob in golf ball design and a black headliner. These insignia of sportiness have been individualised or modified for the Golf GTI Clubsport. Accordingly, the anniversary model features folding racing bucket seats instead of sport seats. The seats are partially covered with Alcantara and feature a honeycomb pattern in the area of the back rests and seat cushions; the backrest also incorporates “GTI” lettering. A red line enhances the seat belts. New trim strips in “Honeycomb 40” design (instrument strip, centre console and doors) give the interior an even more exclusive appearance. Sporty decorative features include Alcantara trim on the gear lever, new lenses on the gear knob, the Alcantara sport steering wheel (with GTI emblem, red seam and 12 o’clock marking) and customised floor mats with red edging. When the driver and front passenger open the doors, they see the exclusive stainless steel door sill plates with red GTI lettering.

Bayangan Proton Perdana 2016?

Adalah menjadi kelaziman untuk pengeluar kenderaan menggunakan tayangan filem sebagai platform memperkenalkan model baharu atau membuat kajian pasaran sebelum memasarkannya. Honda dan Chevrolet misalnya menggunakan kaedah tersebut dengan menampilkan model baharu mereka di dalam filem pecah panggung antarabangsa.

Syarikat kenderaan nasional Proton turut tidak ketinggalan menggunakan kaedah itu di mana hangat diperkatakan sekarang ini Perdana baharu ‘membintangi’ filem Kapsul di samping penampilan khas Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Tampil dengan kejutan adalah perkara biasa buat Tun Dr Mahathir kerana beliau juga pernah memandu Proton Iriz secara terbuka di atas jalan raya awam sebelum ianya dilancarkan secara rasmi. Strategi tersebut nyata berjaya apabila banyak menarik perhatian dan menjadi viral di alam maya. Kali ini, sekali lagi Tun Dr. Mahathir membuat kejutan yang sememangnya sinonim dengan beliau sejak berada di dalam kerajaan lagi.

Melalui klip promosi filem Kapsul, Proton Perdana tampil dengan perubahan ketara berbanding platform asal Honda Accord seperti tiang C yang mempunyai tingkap sisi manakala gayaan bahagian belakang dan gugusan lampu pula mempunyai pengaruh kuat studio Proton. Keterujaan ini walau bagaimanapun harus disimpan dahulu kerana khabarnya model produksi Proton Perdana baharu 100% tidak sama seperti model di dalam filem tersebut.

Adalah menjadi kebiasaan pengeluar untuk tidak memberi imej yang tepat di dalam filem dan cukup sekadar memberi bayangan mengenai model akan datang. Selamat untuk dikatakan, Proton Perdana yang dipaparkan adalah sahih untuk kegunaan filem Kapsul sahaja.
